Being Charismatic in Sales

Being Charismatic in Sales

Have you all wondered why some people are able to capture people’s attention just by talking? Or why some people are able to influence others in following them without doing anything much? This phenomena has something to do with Charisma.

Charisma is all about a spiritual power or personal quality that gives an individual influence or authority over large numbers of people. To put this simply, charisma is about being able to charm people with your presence. It involves how you interact with people. Therefore, it is important to know a few pointers on how to be charismatic. This will essentially help you with your sales meetings or presentations.

1.Exude Confidence

Confidence would be an important element in being charismatic. When you are confident, especially when it shows in your communication, you will tend to put others at ease and inspire faith in your abilities. You can be confident in a positive way without being boastful. Remember to show your confidence and not show off your confidence.

2. Be Optimistic

Being optimistic is to be able to remain cheerful in any type of situations. Try to see the best in other people, situations and events and your views will resonate to others. This will encourage others to see things as you do, thus making them feel more optimistic. Optimism can be powerful for successful negotiation and problem solving.

3. Mind your Body Language

Your ability to communicate does not only come from the way you talk, but also the way you carry yourself via your body language. Some useful pointers to take note would include the following. When you greet your client, shake his or her hands firmly while maintaining eye contact. Always maintain a good posture even when sitting down and remember to smile.

4. Listen and Engage

You should also listen and engage in the conversation. Listen and respond accordingly to the topic at hand. Always seem interested to know more about your clients’ concerns and issues pertaining to the topic. If you can, solve those issues so that your clients will know that you are listening and are genuinely interested in helping them, rather than selling them something.

Developing charisma is an art. The general guidelines above can help you be more charismatic, but your charisma must come from within you and must reflect you as an individual or it will appear fake. At least we now know that you can learn to be more charismatic, no matter the age you are in. Just practice more and improve your skills along the way.
